Joining us to discuss his new book, Resisting Therapy Culture: The Dangers of Pop Psychology and How the Church Can Respond, he argues that the church and mental health professionals serve complementary but distinct purposes.He’ll offer a path to recover a vision of the church centered on worship, discipleship, and faithful partnership with those equipped to care for mental illness.
Dr. Matthew Loftus practices family medicine at a mission hospital in Kenya. He was the inaugural recipient of the Trinity Forum’s Michael J. Gerson Prize for Excellence in Writing on Faith and Public Life. His work has appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, Christianity Today, First Things, Comment, and Mere Orthodoxy.
