Online Conversation with Justin Giboney

July 24, 2026 1:30pm - 2:30pm ET
Overview

How can we be faithful in the public square without joining the culture wars? Though we’re urged to demonize rivals, focus on winning instead of solving problems, and put our trust in our political allegiances, is there a path that leads to choosing witness over strife?

Justin Giboney argues that the Black church tradition offers a path to combining deep Christian faith with commitment to justice. In his book Don’t Let Nobody Turn You Around: How the Black Church’s Public Witness Leads Us out of the Culture War, he describes how that tradition’s defiance of demands to treat opponents as enemies can inspire the whole church to bear public witness in a distinctly Christian way.

Justin Giboney is an attorney, political strategist, and civic leader based in Atlanta. As the co-founder and president of the AND Campaign, a Christian civic organization, Justin is dedicated to promoting Christ-centered values as the basis for engagement in politics and social issues. He’s previously co-authored Compassion (&) Conviction – The AND Campaign’s Guide to Faithful Civic Engagement. His op-eds have been featured in publications includingThe Hill and Christianity Today.

Join us Friday July 24 at 1:30 PM ET for an Online Conversation with Justin Giboney.
