C.S. Lewis is celebrated for his rational case for Christian faith in works like Mere Christianity. Perhaps surprisingly, he also loved the mystical dimension of the faith, believing that daily encounters with beauty can help us to see the transcendent glory of God breaking into our human existence. With Lewis as our guide, what can the Christian mystical tradition teach us about finding God not only in extraordinary experiences but in the midst of our daily lives?
In his book, The Everyday Mysticism of C.S. Lewis: Spirituality for Daily Life, Gary Selby explores what the mystical tradition can teach us about everyday spirituality through the eyes of Lewis. We’ll discuss practical guidance on spiritual growth and practices from this tradition that can open us to a deeper life of faith.
